POSITION TITLE: Senior Engineer
LOCATION(S): TBD

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To serve as a member of the engineering services team providing assistance in acquiring new work from customers and designing solutions for engineering projects (including activities such as - conceptual design of product components/ aircraft interior monuments, modeling and detailing work, analysis work, and technical documentation). The successful candidate will become part of a small, highly dynamic and fast moving team, and should be self-motivated, have a great attitude and able to work on his or her own initiative. He/she should be able to solve problems and challenge existing assumptions. Thinking out of the box is an integral part of the position.

ACTIVITIES and DUTIES:
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Participates in providing Engineering Services to our clients including conceptual and detailed design of interior aircraft components such as Galleys, Bulkheads, Stowaways, Lavatory, etc. and design of special tools, jigs and fixtures used in the manufacture, assembly or repair of these components
  • Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of client’s organization and industry
  • Helps respond to customer RFI, RFQ, and other such queries for information
  • Assists with information to accurately develop a statement of work
  • Must be capable of assuming ownership and responsibility for all:
    • Design, Modeling and Drafting work associated with a project
    • Understanding and creating new or modified LOPA
    • Installation drawings and Work Instructions along with supporting documents/manuals
    • Processing of Engineering Orders (EOs)
    • Production of design substantiation documentation (Certification and compliance)
  • Interdepartmental Liaison
  • Must be able to participate and lead technical discussions in ITCM, PDR, CDR, FAI, DSM
  • Will be required to lead a team of globally dispersed engineers, designers and CAD technicians on a project
  • Must make business decisions on regular basis to improve quality of deliverables, production efficiency and profitability

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

  • BS or MS in Aeronautical or Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Training in CAD tools such as CATIA, UG-NX, SolidWorks and Pro/E.
  • FAA-DER certification/training is NOT required but if available should be listed on the resume

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in Aircraft Interiors is required

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrates Industry knowledge (Aerospace) and has good understanding of business challenges associated with engineering services and design solution deployment
  • Proven experience as interior Design Engineer with an Aircraft OEM, Sub-tier component manufacturer or an Airline
  • Competent user of 3D CAD tools (such as CATIA, SolidWorks, Pro/E, UG-NX, AutoCAD)
  • Familiar with various Boeing and Airbus configurations and interior monuments
  • Knowledge of FAA, EASA 21J, CS-25, and EU-OPS regulations including FAR 14 CFR
  • Knowledge of PMA and STC processes
  • Experience in liaising with subcontractors and customers
  • Track record of meeting budget and deadlines
  • Knowledge of Airbus-On-Line (AOL) and My Boeing Fleet would be beneficial
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and new business development capabilities
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes including composites used in the aerospace industry
  • Ability to work in a team, local as well as remote

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment and involves the ability to sit for extended periods of time, with occasional walking - which includes stairs
  • This position may require up to 50% domestic travel with extended stays at customer site on active projects
  • Ability to communicate on telephone and handle all calls in a professional and personable manner
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, to work on desktop computer with keyboard and mouse (repetitive keyboard and mouse motion is necessary)
  • Vision must be good enough to read keyboards, computer screens, reference books, reports and other written documents
  • Ability to drive own vehicle or rental vehicle
  • Non-smoking environment
