Instructions to obtain the Target ID
Your LUM server should preferably be a server that will remain on at all times so that all users can access the license at all times.
*Important* Before beginning, please note if there is more than one NIC on the machine that will be the LUM server. If there is more than one network card present, please contact NobleTek for further assistance. Even if the other NICS are disabled, it is critical to let us know before continuing.
Also, please note that Virtual Machines CAN NOT be setup as license servers.
1. If LUM is not already installed, please download and install the correct version of LUM for the OS that you are working with
a. LUM can be downloaded from the NobleTek site by filling out the FTP Request Form
b. The following steps will also take you to this form
i. Go to the NobleTek website
ii. Click on Support
FTP Request
iii. Fill out the FTP Request Form
2. The following steps are for Windows users, see below for other operating systems
a. Double click on arkwin468.exe from the folder where you downloaded LUM
b. Take the defaults and complete the installation
3. Select Start
Run and type in cmd
4. At the command prompt type the following: i4target –O
a. Note that the letter O must be capitalized and that it is not a zero
5. The highlighted information listed under the LUM Target ID section is the Target ID
6. Please send the following information to NobleTek
a. The Target ID is:
b. The Operating System is:
c. Concurrent (sharable) or Nodelocked (locked to only one machine):

For other operating systems:
1. AIX/IBM Workstations open up a Terminal Window and type in the following
a. For V5: i4target -O
i. Note that the letter O must be capitalized and that it is not a zero
b. For V4: uname –m
i. Remove the zeros in the front and in the rear
2. HPUX/HP Workstations open up a Terminal Window and type in the following
a. i4target
3. IRIX - SGI Workstations open up a Terminal Window and type in the following
a. sysinfo
4. SunOS/Solaris Workstations open up a Terminal Window and type in the following
a. hostid
